Tyre Creel Room & Wire Storage

Tyre Creel Room & Wire Storage

With the advancement of modern tire manufacturing technologies, the use of radial tires is increasing day by day. To maintain the structural integrity of radial tires and provide long-lasting durability, steel belts are often integrated. The steel belt is one of the fundamental components of the tire, placed over the layers of the cord on the tire's surface and consisting of thin steel wires arranged parallel to each other. These wires are combined with the rubber material inside the tire to become part of the tire's structure. The steel belt is located just below the round part of the tire, preventing the tire's surface from expanding outward and ensuring a more stable driving experience.

The areas where the steel belts are stored and where the cords are pulled from various spools or reels in an orderly manner need to have controlled temperature and humidity levels. High relative humidity levels not controlled by dehumidifiers can cause the steel tire wires to rust. Rust affects the proper bonding between steel and rubber and impacts the tension properties of the cords, disrupting production stabilization. Therefore, the ambient humidity should be maintained at 25-30% RH to prevent corrosion and preserve the cords. The areas surrounding the spools and where the steel tire wires are stored are naturally warmer and more humid. As a result, if the products are exposed to the external environment, moisture will condense on the cord's surface due to contact with a surface temperature below the dew point and will get trapped within the finished layer.

To ensure the proper storage conditions for steel belts and cord fabrics, which are crucial for the long life and durability of radial tires, it is essential to select industrial dehumidifiers that can meet the system requirements and distribute dry air homogeneously within the area using an appropriate ventilation system. The dehumidifier should communicate with the cooling equipment in the environment and not operate independently to minimize temperature and humidity fluctuations in the room, ensuring stable climate conditions.
